Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) | Endoscopy

Location: Avera on Louise Health Campus Worker Type: Regular Work Shift: Day/Evening/Weekend/Holiday Pay Range: $22.50 - $31.50 (Actual pay rate dependent upon experience) Open to experienced LPN's Brief Overview Responds and assists the Physician and Registered Nurse by providing assistance to professional staff during the pre-procedure, procedure or post-procedure period. The LPN practices under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice registered nurse, licensed physician, or other health care provider. The LPN organizes and directs those aspects of care for which he/she is accountable; communicating and coordinating care with well-defined nursing diagnoses, including all health team members. This position will assist with procedure room set‑up, scope cleaning and scope maintenance, as well as entering and maintaining inventory control. What you will do Prepare the room for procedure in a timely fashion, including patient and equipment positioning. Maintain efficiency in handling equipment at physician’s request during procedures. Verify specimens with Physician and Registered Nurse. Achieve and maintain a working knowledge of equipment and tools; clean and maintain equipment. Keep stock and equipment inventories, including requisitions or forms for maintenance and repair. Collect data and conduct a focused nursing assessment of the health status of a patient. Participate with other health care providers in the development and modification of the patient‑centered healthcare plan; communicate and collaborate with patients and members of the healthcare team. Advocate for the best interest of the patient and provide for the maintenance of safe and effective nursing care rendered directly or indirectly. Assist with health counseling and teaching. Implement, delegate, and assign nursing interventions to implement the plan of care and assist in evaluating the response to interventions. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Board of Nursing; an active license in the state of practice upon hire. SGNA GI Associate’s Program – Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) within 1½ years.
