We’re Looking For: Licensure or Certifications MA: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days unless department leader has determined it is not required. Degrees: GED or HS Equivalency Diploma. MA: Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant, or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years. LPN: Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Practical Nursing What You’ll Do: Schedule: Monday-Friday hours will vary from 8am-5:30pm As a Medical Assistant/LPN, you’ll play a vital role in the care team – supporting providers, connecting with patients, and helping ensure a seamless, compassionate experience every day. As a key member of the ambulatory care team, you will: Welcome patients and support their transition into care. Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings. Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures. Administer medications and vaccines as directed. Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing. Document care accurately in the electronic health record. Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care. About This Location: The Family Care Center at Aurora Sinai Medical Center (945 N 12th St) is a comprehensive, family-centered primary care clinic within an academic medical center: Full-spectrum primary care: Serves patients of all ages with preventive care, routine checkups, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions. Family + pediatric focus: Integrates family medicine and pediatric care, supporting both individual and whole-family health needs. Teaching environment: Includes resident physicians working alongside experienced providers, reflecting its role in medical education and training. Coordinated care: Embedded within Aurora Sinai Medical Center, allowing easy access to specialists and hospital-based services. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present. Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions. Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines. Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed. May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions. Physical Abilities Testing may be required.
