Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13-20 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Current nursing license required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry setting. Traveler experience accepted. Charge experience preferred. Knowledge in interpreting dysrhythmias is essential. Experience in management of dysrhythmias required. Familiarity with telemetry remote monitoring and on-unit monitoring. Ability to use Rapid Response and Code teams effectively. Proficient in bowel obstruction, colostomy, ileostomy care, and management. Experienced in feeding tube management and care. Skilled in pre/post hemodialysis patient management. Knowledge of renal failure and blood product administration crucial. Experience with central line blood draw and peripheral line care. Phlebotomy skills required. Competent in PICC line management and initiating/maintaining IVs. Familiar with heparin and insulin administration. Experience with PCA pumps is needed. Knowledge of chest tube management and non-invasive airway management is essential. Skilled in oxygen administration using various devices. Knowledge of isolation precautions and personal protective equipment is essential. Experience in wound care and wound vac management preferred. Description: Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry setting. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Monitor patients for changes in condition and report to the appropriate medical staff. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care. Document all patient interactions and care provided. Educate patients and families regarding care plans and health maintenance. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to safety protocols. Maintain a professional demeanor and adhere to ethical standards of nursing practice. Flexibility to float to different units as required is expected. Willingness to work every other weekend and during holidays is necessary. Must complete specific competency assessments related to patient care.
