Job Summary Deliver on University Credit Unions CHAMPION values to engage in behaviors that create member and team member loyalty. Play a pivotal role in supporting the university community by providing self‑service banking assistance, promoting credit union products and services, and representing the credit union at on‑campus events and sponsorships. Demonstrate excellent member service and a comprehensive understanding of credit union products to foster strong relationships with both current and potential members. Location UC San Diego Banking Hub – Anticipated start date aligned with the UCSD semester start date (August 2024). Key Duties and Responsibilities Help establish, communicate, and achieve the credit union’s goals and standards. Assist students, faculty, and staff with navigating and utilizing self‑service banking options, including online banking, mobile apps, and ATMs. Educate users on the convenience and benefits of self‑service banking to promote financial independence and empower them to manage their finances effectively. Collaborate with university departments and student organizations to support on‑campus events and workshops sponsored by the credit union. Provide personalized consultation to current and potential credit union members, addressing their financial needs, goals, and concerns. Present credit union products and services that align with individual financial situations, demonstrating the value of banking with the university credit union. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of credit union products, services, and financial solutions; stay up-to-date with changes and updates to credit union offerings. Understand all contractual obligations and support our university partners. Identify marketing opportunities with university partners and SEGs. Attend and support Growth Department meetings and activities; provide backup support as necessary. Keep management informed of area activities and any significant concerns. Refer member‑owners to internal financial experts when necessary. Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned, including special projects (some activities may take place in evenings or weekends). Stay current with financial and public relations trends. Ensure that the work area is clean, secure, and well maintained. Qualifications Education/Certification : Business development training preferred in a credit union or banking environment where a consultative sale approach is used. Complete UCU certification requirements. Required Knowledge : Basic knowledge of credit union operations; understanding of business and media processes. Experience Required : Minimum one year of related experience. Skills and Abilities : Excellent oral and written communication skills. Well organized and attentive to detail. Strong project management abilities. Proficient with related computer applications. Independent thinker and self‑starter.
