Master Diesel Technician / Shop Leader

DHT Group is searching for a high-level diesel technician who can diagnose, lead, solve problems, and drive performance. We are NOT looking for parts changers. We are looking for the technician everyone else goes to when the difficult jobs hit the floor. If you can identify failures others miss, eliminate downtime, mentor younger techs, and keep equipment moving — we want to talk to you immediately. What You'll Do

• Perform advanced diesel diagnostics and system-level troubleshooting
• Identify and resolve high-cost failures quickly and correctly
• Handle critical breakdowns and complex repairs
• Drive shop productivity and repair efficiency
• Analyze recurring failures and identify long-term solutions
• Assist with equipment specification and maintenance planning
• Mentor and coach developing technicians
• Lead by example in professionalism, urgency, and accountability
• Help reduce downtime, comeback repairs, and cost-per-mile impact

What We're Looking For

5+ Years Of Heavy-Duty Diesel Experience

You should already have strong experience with:

• Advanced diagnostics
• Electrical troubleshooting
• Engine systems
• Drivetrain systems
• Failure analysis
• Diagnostic software platforms
• System-level problem solving

You Must Be:

• Reliable and dependable

• Able to work independently
• Calm under pressure

Requirements

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of diesel technician experience required
• Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting ability strongly preferred
• Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds safely and repeatedly
• Sufficient eyesight to inspect equipment, identify defects, and perform detailed repair work
• Ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
• Ability to stand, bend, climb, kneel, and work in varying shop conditions
• Must provide and maintain personal tools appropriate for the position
• Strong attendance and dependability required
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must possess a safety-first mindset and professional attitude
• Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred but not required
• Leadership mentality with willingness to mentor developing technicians preferred
