About the Position

Key Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed ionizing radiation therapy to patients in accordance with physician prescriptions and department protocols
• Verify patient identification, diagnosis, and prescription prior to each treatment delivery
• Prepare treatment room and equipment, including immobilization devices, and safely transfer patients to the treatment couch with attention to individual patient needs
• Observe patients during treatment for unusual reactions or developing complications and report findings to the supervising physician
• Maintain accurate and thorough patient treatment records, including daily treatment logs, blood counts, and special reports within patient charts
• Provide clinical supervision and evaluation of students performing radiologic procedures

• Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy (ARRT-T) required
• Certification of Therapeutic Radiology Technology (RTT) required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor required
• Active California state licensure required
• Minimum of two years of recent experience in radiation therapy

• Bachelor's degree in Radiological Technology or equivalent; Master's degree a plus
• Experience with Elekta treatment systems
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
• Fluoroscopy Permit from the California Department of Health Services
