Responsibilities Your Role The Process Engineer role supports the manufacturing process using engineering skills to assess, manage, implement, improve, or revise processes, with the goal of improving efficiency of operation, safety, and the consistency of product quality. The individual will be responsible for developing procedures that facilitate the adoption of standardized processes that support future expansion. In addition, the individual will monitor the effectiveness of processes and quantify results and presents findings to management. This role requires preparation of detailed reports and analysis for use by management in measuring overall production efficiency. Achieve operational objectives by incorporating the following: providing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews, preparing and completing action plans, implementing production, productivity, and quality, resolving problems, completing time studies, identifying trends and implementing change. Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency using drafting tools and computer. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, seminars, and trade shows. Confer with vendors and management personnel regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and project status. Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects. Assess, document, and monitor existing processes. Implement and evaluate changes to existing processes designed to enhance productivity, safety, or product quality. Interact closely with new product development group to assist in implementation and scale-up of new products on the production lines. Analyze current machinery conditions and work with internal and external resources to modify and improve operational effectiveness. Mechanical aptitude. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Knowledge of process-related standards. Strong technical skills. Solid analytical and problem-solving skills (Root Cause analysis techniques). Working knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, CAD, and Solidworks. Icing On The Cake 2-4 years of practical work experience in blown film extrusion or film converting. 5S and Lean experience.
