Overview Fairview Park Hospital, a member of HCA Healthcare, offers a residency program designed to provide hands-on experience to help establish clinical and critical thinking skills. The HCA Healthcare Residency Program is a year-long program to support the transition from student nurse to registered nurse. The RN Resident coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the department's requirements and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. The RN Resident works with medical providers and the care team to provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models, and serves as an advocate for patients, families and caregivers to support an unparalleled patient experience. What you will do in this role: Responsibilities Assess patient condition during admission and each shift as scheduled, identifying and reporting changes in patient status. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Document care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner. Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic response, and notify the provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response to medication. Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, and anticipate and resolve patient needs proactively. Educate patients, families and caregivers about the medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures; translate complex medical terminology to ensure understanding.
