Initiatives and Training Grant Manager (Temporary) Reporting toDEOHSChair, theManager will partner with the department Chair tofacilitateinitiatives and manage a federal graduate student training grant. The position will also work closely with department faculty and staff leadership. The salary information provided below is for a full-time position and will be prorated for this part-time, 50% FTE opportunity. This positionwill bebenefitseligible and has the potential to increase to 70% FTE. Key Responsibilities Federal Training Grant Management (60%): DEOHS houses an interdisciplinary federal training grant (T32) which supports several pre-doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows across three departments in SPH. Duties include: Recruitment: Partner with the traininggrantPI, faculty, and colleagues in other participating units to recruit up to10graduate studentsand5post-doctroalfellows assigned to the grant for 1+ years.Solicit, track and compile applications responding to questions. Position Management: Track appointments and maintain accurate reporting in the federal and UW systems. Generate appointment and renewal letters while tracking available slots depending on fiscal year. Liaison with others regarding standard appointments and complex adjustments. Frequently interact with graduate students and post-doctoral fellows as well as mentors. Grant Management: Conduct all grant management associated with the training grant include progress reports, metrics, narratives, interacting with UW grant pre- and post-units. Liaison with federal funding agency representatives and other training grant managers across the UW. Grant Deliverable Management (event, etc.): Manage compliance with training grant deliverables, tracking and implementing requirements. Activities may include arranging for trainings and partnering with the department event manager to plan and host various events. The position also partner with the department communications team regarding the BEBTEH public website and content up-dates. Department Initiatives (40%): The Manager will take the lead administrative role on initiatives launched by the department Chair and faculty leadership. Activities will include: Department and topical policy, procedure and compliance Up-Dates and documentation which will require working closely with faculty committee chairs and members to review materials, establish a transparent process for modifications, and dissemination according to faculty governance and department processes. Department and School Level Initiatives: Work closely with the Chair, faculty and staff leadership to conduct School initiatives delegated to the Chair. Activities may include the FY27/FY28 initiative to assess faculty compensation, department/school service provision, school strategic plan launch, etc. Retreats and Special Events: The Manager will be part of a department staff team implementing Chair and faculty leadership initiated retreats, focus groups, and other events initiated by the Chair. Required Qualifications To be considered for this opportunity your application must demonstrate you meet both the minimum qualifications and additional qualifications listed below. Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration. Minimum Qualifications Applicants who do not meet these qualifications WILL NOT be forwarded to the Hiring Department. Bachelor of Science Degree and three years of project management experience to include 2 years of managing federal T32 grants and performing external funding pre and post award management. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing post-award activities in an academic or healthcare research environment. Demonstrated knowledge of federal regulations (e.g., Uniform Guidance), UW policies, and sponsor requirements. Strong financial analysis, forecasting, and reconciliation skills. Experience with Workday Finance, UW SAGE, Award Portal, eRA Commons, and ASSIST or similar enterprise financial systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
