Job Description
Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse


Profession: Registered Nurse
Specialty: Operating Room
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday-Friday with a rotating late schedule.
Hours per Shift: 8 hours
Experience: Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience preferred in orthopedic cases.
License: Required
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS


Must-Have:
- Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room experience.
- Scrubbing experience required.
- Experience with orthopedic cases preferred.


Description:
Department includes 10 operating rooms and one procedure room.
Average number of cases per day is 30-35.
Common cases consist of 65% orthopedic procedures, including orthopedic surgeries on joints.
Other procedures may include plastic surgery, ENT, and some general surgery.
Only neuro procedures performed are disc surgeries.
No robotic surgeries or urology, vascular, gynecology, or eye procedures are included.
A board runner is available on each shift.
Operating Room technicians are present to assist.
Paper charting is utilized within the department.
Schedule consists of five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts.
Start times are either 07:00 or 07:30.
One surgeon may utilize two operating rooms simultaneously.
Floating requirements are not applicable.
Scrubs are provided, and laundered caps can be worn.
On implant cases, disposable coverings over personal caps are required.
Unit-specific orientation is tailored based on traveling nurse experience.
Cancellation policy requires written notice 14 days in advance.
