Position Summary - About Albuquerque, New Mexico Albuquerque is a unique city with mountains to the east (including the longest aerial tram in the Americas), volcanoes to the west, and is home to one of the largest hot air balloon festivals in the country that is one of the most photographed events in the world. Albuquerque offers all of the amenities of a major metropolitan, but nature is never too far away. You are never far from hiking/biking trails, rafting, skiing, or fishing. Qualifications - Minimum QualificationsMD, DO, or equivalent degreeCompletion by start date of Residency in Neurological Surgery, accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)Preferred QualificationsAcademic neurosurgery practice; with a minimum of one year as fellow or attending surgeon, working with residents and studentsTeaching; with lectures and presentations listedScholarly activity; with evidence of publication, participation in clinical/ translational research, and/or independent funding of researchProfessionalism;with outstanding ability to communicate effectively across multiple specialtiesCommitment to Community; with a demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the University's mission to serve local and global communities
