Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS)

General Description of Responsibilities:The Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS) will work with the behavioral home team to ensure that well -coordinated and integrated care is delivered to the youth and families served. The CIPSS will provide leadership andtechnical assistance in developing and implementing the BHHO peer support services. A willingness to share experiences with co- workers and community providers is essential for success in this position.This position must be able to work flexible hours, which may include weekends, evenings, and holidays.Duties include and are not limited to:Identifying individual needs for peer supports through interaction with the BHHO team and clientsProviding individual and group peer support to BHHO team clients and other clientsActing as a peer role model, demonstrating effective interpersonal communications and community integration strategiesAssisting clients with understanding their rights and responsibilities as recipients of mental health and co-occurring use disorder servicesNetworking with current programs and advocating for new opportunities for client in community supports, programs, and activities of their choiceAssisting clients with understanding their experience of mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorder through shared common experience as peersUnderstanding and actively supporting the mission of the BHHO model, the client directed outcome informed client model, and the principles of recoveryProviding a unique perspective as a participating member of the BHHO, helping staff to understand mental illness through the client experienceAttending and actively participating in all BHHO staff and team meetings and supervisionsProviding volunteer peer services outside of regular business hoursReceiving required individual supervisions as required by the CIPSS programAssisting clients with transportation in conjunction with the goals on their ISPAccepting and following through on guidance for professional growth and performance improvement in clinical and administrative supervisionsProviding added individual and program consultations around any area in which you demonstrate special expertiseParticipating in required and elective staff development activities in accord with the individual staff development planPosition Requirements:Proof of vehicle insurance at $50K/$100K and a valid Maine drivers license are requiredMust be 18 years of age or olderHigh school diploma or equivalentCIPSS certification or CIPSS provisional certificationSelf identified mental health consumer who has personally experienced a severe and persistent mental illnessBenefits:Mileage reimbursementFlexible schedulePaid time offWorking within 30 miles of your homeNo vaccine requirementWork/life balanceWe continue to offer your job specific trainings at no cost to youAssistance Plus provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws. #J-18808-Ljbffr Assistance-Plus
