About the Position

Job Title: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Hours (06:45 - 19:15) Experience: Minimum 2 years required; first-timers accepted License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS required; flu vaccine required with medical/religious exemptions only Must-Have: - Experience with PICC line management and initiating IVs - Willingness to care for trach and laryngectomy patients, with appropriate training provided - Flexibility to float to meet facility needs and work a maximum patient ratio of 1:7 if needed Description: The position is for a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse. The shift is 3x12 days from 06:45 to 19:15. The nurse will be expected to work every other weekend. If requested time off falls on a weekend, the nurse will be scheduled according to rotation. Nursing duties include providing care for various patient diagnoses. Special procedures include dressing changes, drain removal, and IV insertion. The nurse will manage blood transfusions and care for surgical drains. Continuous education and a willingness to learn are essential for success in this role. Nurses are expected to be proactive in their care plans. Interdisciplinary support will be available as needed. Collaboration with other healthcare professionals to assure the best patient outcomes is paramount. The facility is a Magnet-designated, acute care hospital.
