Patient Access -Admitting

LifeCare Medical Center, 715 Delmore Dr., Roseau, MN 56751, USA. The Patient Access Representative greets patients and visitors and is the first point of contact, registering and scheduling all patient types (inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department). The role ensures accurate patient identity, verifies demographic and insurance information, and maintains the electronic record system (Epic). Responsibilities Greet and guide patients and visitors in a courteous, respectful, and professional manner. Register patients in Epic and verify insurance coverage. Schedule appointments and check‑in patients. Obtain patient consent for treatment. Scan consent forms, EKGs, and other documents into Epic. Complete missing account information through assigned work queues. Collaborate with departments (ED nursing, lab, imaging) to ensure timely services. Monitor patient and visitor access through the ED entrance during overnight shifts (11 pm–7 am). Clean the admitting work area and adjacent public spaces as needed. Qualifications Education: General Educational Development (GED) or higher, or equivalent medical field training. Experience: Prior patient access role preferred. Skills: Excellent customer service, detail oriented, works independently, self‑motivated, and teamwork.
