Job Summary

The Patient Services Representative II serves as the first point of contact for patients at an outpatient healthcare facility in Redding, CA. This position is responsible for providing professional and courteous patient service while supporting registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, patient intake, and accurate electronic health record management.

The representative works closely with patients, families, healthcare providers, and administrative teams to ensure efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and a positive patient experience. The role also supports payment collection, healthcare documentation, and other administrative functions while maintaining patient confidentiality and compliance with applicable healthcare requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients in a professional and welcoming manner.
• Register patients and accurately verify demographic and insurance information.
• Schedule and coordinate patient appointments in an outpatient healthcare setting.
• Update and maintain accurate patient information in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Assist patients with healthcare and insurance forms and intake documentation.
• Collect patient payments and support related administrative processes.
• Respond to patient and family questions and provide appropriate assistance.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, clinical staff, patients, and families.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow organizational, state, and federal privacy requirements.
• Support efficient patient flow and accurate documentation.
• Process multiple patient-facing and administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Assist with departmental processes and may help orient or support other staff.
• Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.
  

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in patient services, medical front office, patient access, or healthcare administration.
• Experience with patient registration and check-in.
• Experience verifying patient demographics and insurance information.
• Experience scheduling appointments in an outpatient healthcare setting.
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
• Experience handling healthcare/insurance forms and intake documentation.
• Experience with payment collection.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work onsite in Redding, CA .
• Candidates must be located in Shasta County .
• Ability to work a full-time day schedule, five 8-hour shifts, generally 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.

• Experience with revenue cycle or patient access workflows.
• Experience working in an outpatient medical facility or clinic.
• Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Experience handling multiple patient-facing and administrative responsibilities.
• Experience assisting with or orienting other staff members.
• Familiarity with healthcare registration and scheduling workflows.
