Qualifications:

• Previous experience in the veterinary field preferred or currently enrolled in the fourth term of a Veterinary Technician program.

• Must be reliable, possess excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, strategic thinking abilities, and extreme attention to detail.

• Capacity to multi-task while maintaining a friendly and positive attitude.

Key Skills:

• General knowledge of flea and heartworm preventatives, medications, vaccines, etc.

• Confident in venipuncture

• Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain accuracy under pressure.

• Confident animal handling skills.

• Strong team player with good customer service skills.

• Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacology.

• Self-motivated and eager to learn.

• Flexibility to work weekends and adapt to different clients, staff, and management styles.

• Professional appearance is a must.

Responsibilities Include:

• Answering phones and scheduling appointments.

• Maintaining accurate medical records.

• Communicating with clients regarding patient care.

• Assisting doctors with medical care, diagnostics, filling prescriptions, performing x-rays and assisting with anesthesia and surgery.

• Cleaning cages and kennels, ensuring general care of hospitalized patients.

• Accurately filling multiple prescriptions daily, which includes contacting outside pharmacies when necessary.
