Job Summary

The Production Planner- Coordinator position is accountable for distributing required workload to the ship floor to assure that stock products are always available and custom and OEM products are scheduled to be completed as required. This position is also accountable for the procurement of all vendor goods while striving to maintain the best price and purchasing quantities as possible.

Essential Functions

1. Develop supply forecasts to support customer demand for assigned parts/product lines
2. Develop schedules to support customer demand while planning for adequate resource capacity
3. Create and distribute schedules based on capacity constraints
4. Schedule jobs based on the optimization of shop resources and cost effectiveness
5. Work directly with the sales team to communicate production time estimates ensure custom and OEM products are delivered on time
6. Close and analyze all jobs in the ERP as they are completed
7. Create and maintain cost metrics on every active part in the ERP to use in the evaluation of the production process and pricing tiers
8. Work with the Master Scheduler to set and maintain proper inventory levels (WIP/Components and Finished Goods)
9. Develop outsourcing plans/parts and managing corresponding schedules for assembly/finished goods
10. Work with the Production Engineer and the Materials Manager to allow for lot purchasing where appropriate
11. Work with the Production Supervisor to maintain product flow throughout the operation

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate’s degree or equivalent in business administration, or similar disciplines.
• 3 years of purchasing product management or production experience
• Experience performing material requirements planning
