Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med-Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Teamwork, compassion, collaboration, and communication skills Description: The unit has 30 beds with a patient ratio of 1:6. Staff includes clinical coordinators, unit secretaries, patient care technicians, and case management. Typical equipment used includes walkers, IV pumps, and SCDs. The documentation system utilized is Meditech. Scheduling requires 4 weekend shifts within a 28-day schedule and participation in holiday rotation. The floating policy aligns with the rotation of other staff members. Patient experience expectations require maintaining a 72% satisfaction rate, utilizing communication boards. Advanced skills needed include medical-surgical experience with respiratory diseases, renal diseases, GI illnesses, telemetry, central venous catheters, indwelling catheters, and heparin gtt administration. The unit performs various medical procedures relevant to the specialty. Dress code includes navy blue scrubs.
