Role Description The Machine Shop Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in South Windsor, CT. This role oversees day-to-day operations of the machine shop, including organizing workflow, assigning tasks, and monitoring production schedules to meet delivery and quality targets. The supervisor coordinates machining activities such as milling and turning, ensures machines are properly set up and maintained, and supports technicians with troubleshooting and technical guidance. Responsibilities include enforcing safety standards, monitoring quality control processes, reviewing inspection results, and implementing corrective actions as needed. The role also involves communicating with management on production status, optimizing resource utilization, training team members, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications Strong supervisory skills, including team leadership, coaching, performance monitoring, and conflict resolution. Experience with production planning and workflow coordination, including scheduling, capacity planning, and prioritizing jobs. Hands-on proficiency in machining operations, such as milling, turning, and setup of CNC or manual machines. Knowledge of quality control practices, including measurement tools, inspection procedures, and documentation of results. Solid understanding of shop safety standards, equipment maintenance basics, and industrial best practices. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions. Effective communication skills for collaborating with production teams, engineers, and management. Prior experience in a precision machining environment; experience in aerospace or industrial components is a plus.
