- Wiz Kids Sports Camps are seasonal youth sports camps that offer athletic and academic enrichment to participants.

Qualifications
- Prior track related head coaching experience at the elementary or high school level.
- Coaching certification in the sport of track or an advanced degree in Sports Administration is highly preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage with campers, staff, and leadership.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and supervise groups of children in an active camp environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe, positive, inclusive, and engaging environment for all campers.
- Experience developing or facilitating age-appropriate drills, practices, games, or recreational activities.
- Previous summer camp, youth development, education, recreation, or childcare experience.
- CPR, First Aid, AED, or other applicable safety certification.
- Experience working with children of varying ages, abilities, and skill levels.
Position Responsibilities
- The Track Head Coach is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day implementation of the track program and curriculum. Coaches serve as the primary instructors for teaching fundamental skills as well as more advanced strategy.
- Coaches should be passionate about their sport and love working with young athletes ranging from grades 1st through 8th.
- The Track Head Coach will work alongside junior group staff members (also called Associates).
- Will serve as one of the group heads and is responsible for execution of daily skill development sessions.
- Develop and lead daily sport-specific drills.
- Communicate equipment and facility needs to camp leadership staff.
- Create and maintain collaborative relationships with other staff members.
- Ensure the welfare of campers and positive resolution of camper related issues by communicating clearly and consistently with camp leadership staff.
- Arrange in-camp competition programming for campers grades 1 to 8 against competing programs.
- Willingness to comply with Suspected Child Abuse Reporting (Subsection (a)(6) of 325 ILCS 5-4).
- Additional duties as contracted.
Camp Hours
Monday to Thursday from 10:30-4:30pm and Friday from 8:30-4:30pm - this is subject to change dependent on camper enrollment and grade class sizes.
