Job Summary

The Physician Relations Coordinator is a first-line contact in maintaining relationships with referring providers and ensuring timely processing of referrals to our clinics.

Essential Job Functions

• Responds to external referrals in a timely manner, ensuring patients are scheduled appropriately.
• Coordinates receipt of records from the referring provider for transition of care
• Maintains tracking for appropriate monitoring of patient pathway
• Ensures high provider satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving.
• Understands and executes the co-management process when applicable.
• Responds professionally to both written and telecommunications.
• Demonstrates ability to coordinate with others.
• Responds in a timely fashion to inquiries from other colleagues within the organization.
• Educates referring providers through telecommunication or on-site visits

Physical Demands

• Extended Sitting: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk while on the phone, often for the duration of the shift.
• Computer Use: Constant computer use, including frequent typing, mouse use, and screen navigation.
• Headset Use: Continuous headset use for listening and speaking may put pressure on the ears and head.
• Visual Focus: A sustained focus on a computer screen requires good eyesight or corrective measures.
• Repetitive Movements: Frequent, repetitive actions such as typing and dialing phone numbers.
• Speech and Hearing: Clear speaking and active listening skills can be tiring, especially for long stretches.
• Limited Physical Movement: Restricted ability to move freely may require stretching during breaks.
• Manual Dexterity: Hand and finger dexterity for effectively typing and handling office equipment.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, located in University Park, FL. Days and hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. 5:00 P.M., with occasional overtime.

Travel

Travel is required within the greater Sarasota/Venice market.

Required Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED A valid Florida driver's license History of safe driving as indicated by a driving record Customer service and sales experience Prior medical or front office experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

Basic Microsoft Word, Excel, and technologically advanced communication systems and devices. Previous experience in a call center environment.
