Job Title: Labor and Delivery Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Nurse Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current Registered Nurse Licensure Certifications: American Heart Association BLS, STABLE certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification Must-Have: Must be able to catch/transition nurse Must be able to act as Charge Nurse Must be willing to float to other departments as a safety companion L&D experience (antepartum, intrapartum, preop, circulate, PACU) preferred Description: The Registered Nurse works in a collaborative and cooperative relationship with other members of the healthcare team. Plans and implements patient and family education. Responsible for assessing the needs and initiating appropriate intervention for patients. Competence in and a willingness and ability to practice modified primary nursing is required. Employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned. Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or the situation. Analyze the assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues. Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or the situation. Develop a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes. Implement the identified plan of care. Employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Systematically enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
