Copy and Education Associate

The Copy & Education Associate leads Oak Essentials' brand storytelling and education copy execution, ensuring a cohesive and compelling voice across every consumer-facing touchpoint.

This role approaches copy with a deep understanding of the brand's positioning, goals, and audience — someone who both sets editorial standards and does the hands-on writing to meet launch volume and deadlines. The role also owns product education copy: translating technical formulation and ingredient information from Product Development into clear, compelling, layman's-terms content for social, website, and email. This is a part-time position that starts as an hourly engagement.

Engagement Details Employment type: Part-time, 20-30 hours/week Compensation: Hourly, range $30-$35/hour Role and Responsibilities: Content Strategy & Core Copywriting Write and refine copy across website, email, SMS, social and product detail pages Write and refine packaging copy for all new launches or re-packaging Serve as day-to-day guardian of brand tone, grammar, naming, and consistency; review and refine social copy written by the Social and PR team to ensure voice alignment Translate high-level strategic direction into actionable messaging and storytelling across all brand touchpoints Oversee copy development across external channels including PR materials, retail, and influencer collaborations Craft SEO & GEO-optimized copy that balances engagement and conversion while maintaining editorial excellence Update customer service templates as needed to support new launches Develop pillar-driven and founder-led messaging that helps strengthen brand authority Product Education & Ingredient Storytelling

Translate technical product, formulation, and ingredient information from Product Development into clear, approachable, consumer-facing copy for social, website, and email Partner with Product Development to source technical material and turn it into layman's-terms brand storytelling Craft ingredient stories and value props that make formulations understandable and desirable to the everyday consumer Ensure educational messaging stays consistent with brand voice and claims-compliance standards across all channels Editorial Programs

Drive editorial content strategy for The Essentialist blog, ensuring it supports both brand and business goals such as awareness, thought leadership, and education Help lead content strategy for Substack, ensuring it aligns with wider editorial strategy Cross-Functional Messaging

Partner with the Product Development team to develop messaging that is clear, compelling, consistent, accurate, and claims-safe Collaborate with Marketing, Creative, and Growth teams to develop messaging for launches and campaigns Guide and mentor team members on brand voice best practices Support the Social team as needed with copywriting Provide editorial oversight and quality control across all content output Qualifications and Requirements: Junior/Mid-level copywriter with luxury, beauty, skincare, or lifestyle brand experience Experience working with founder-led brands or beauty brands or startups Comfortable translating technical or scientific product information into consumer-friendly copy Strong editorial judgment and comfort enforcing brand voice, including with cross-functional partners Highly efficient, deadline-driven writer comfortable handling launch volume

Comfortable using AI tools such as Claude to support copy development, research, and editing while maintaining brand voice and editorial standards
