Architectural Designer, Commercial Division

Roman And Williams Buildings And Interiors New York, NY, US Position: Architectural Designer Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 annually Overview Roman and Williams seeks an Architectural Designer with 4-6 years of professional experience to work on a team managing multiple projects at once. The candidate will be involved in all aspects and phases of design and construction, working with both technical acumen and creative leadership. They should be comfortable communicating in detail with the project team, both verbally and in written form, and delegating appropriately. Responsibilities and Duties Work with a team on all phases of a project (Architectural and Interior Design development) Manage multiple projects simultaneously; maintain schedule & deliverable obligations with clients and collaborators Prepare construction documentation level drawings, including detailed design detailing Use traditional architectural vocabulary and fundamentals of building construction and assembly Vendor management and coordination with consultants (MEP, Structural Engineers, Lighting Designers, Landscape Designers, etc.) Present design ideas internally and externally Clear communication and distribution of information within the team Maintain project directories and documentation Collaborate with consultants and work on a project team Participate in design concept development and presentation materials Prepare schematic design presentations and architectural drawings sets Propose design solutions and carry them through all design phases Participate in development and maintenance of project schedules and difference documents Produce sheets index and drawing logs Research materiality and produce architectural schedules & specifications Coordinate day-to-day project activities with consultants, vendors, and third-party consultants Log and file incoming RFIs, submittals, and other external correspondence to track progress to completion/resolution Qualifications and Skills Minimum 4-6 years of professional architectural experience Experience in construction drawing details and interest in traditional design preferred Commercial experience is a plus Knowledge of construction methods Ability to produce technical documentation (Design Development, Construction Documents, IDD) Fluency in AutoCAD Strong graphics and visual presentation skills 3‑D modeling and rendering experience (Rhino, Revit) is a plus Dexterity with hand drawing and rendering capabilities is a plus #J-18808-Ljbffr Archinect
