About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 11:00 AM - 11:30 PM; 2 call shifts per 6-week schedule period (call shifts are 13 hours, with the expectation that the traveler is onsite within an hour); a 2-week night rotation is required for all travelers; no block scheduling. Experience: Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience License: State RN License in good standing Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association), PALS (American Heart Association) Must-Have: EPIC experience required; trauma level 2 or higher preferred Description: The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN provides care to these patients via the utilization of the nursing process, nursing trends, and technology. The RN maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team. The RN completes an initial assessment upon patient admission and develops an appropriate plan of care based on patient and family needs. The RN implements and modifies the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures based on continuous evaluation. The RN takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents. The RN communicates with others directly and privately when necessary to resolve issues. The RN offers constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers. The RN confers with colleagues to expand their knowledge base and identifies their own learning needs to seek appropriate solutions. The RN fulfills departmental competencies as required. The RN implements procedures and theories specific to emergency department nursing. The RN performs patient assessments and collaborates with providers, family, and patient in developing care plans. The RN executes the plan of care and nursing interventions while continuously modifying the care plan based on assessment. The RN ensures patient and staff safety through appropriate nursing interventions and adherence to safety standards. The RN effectively communicates and collaborates with staff, visitors, and families to promote a healthy and healing environment. The RN maintains accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
