IT Engineer - Networking

Salary: $75,000 - 75,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or five years of equivalent experience supporting network infrastructure in place of a degree.
• We require experience working in a Microsoft Windows environment and with cloud technologies.
• We require at least a CCNA certification.
• We require experience with VMware technology.
• We require experience with enterprise-level server monitoring, diagnostics, and repair.
• We require proven experience with LAN/WAN, VLAN, and VoIP systems.
• We prefer experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
• We require a valid State of Ohio drivers license and an excellent driving record.

• We manage and monitor our WAN/LAN network infrastructure to support client devices, printers, servers, internet access, VPN, VoIP, and telecommunications services.
• We monitor, analyze, evaluate, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and other network-related issues.
• We install, maintain, and oversee computer network hardware and software.
• We design, recommend, and implement enterprise security solutions.
• We plan, implement, and maintain server and PC infrastructure across local and remote environments.
• We perform software installations, system upgrades, patching, and general troubleshooting.
• We work with Active Directory services as directed.
• We troubleshoot Microsoft Exchange, Exchange Online, and Microsoft Office 365.
• We virtualize applications and provide redundancy.
• We document configurations, maintenance plans, project updates, change management items, network design, and security measures.
• We develop, implement, and test disaster recovery response plans.
• We create strategic configuration and capacity plans for digital scanning, VoIP, VLANs, Ethernet, and wireless networks.
• We coordinate with the Datacenter Operations Manager and vendors on approved equipment purchases and maintenance.
• We document issues, escalate as needed, and engage vendors to drive service resolution.
• We contribute to research and planning for the annual budgeting process.
• We travel to other Cuyahoga DD sites to provide service, repairs, and general inspections of network hardware as needed.

We are the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities (Cuyahoga DD), and we are seeking a Networking Engineer to serve as the primary support for our distributed network infrastructure, including datacenter, wireless, switched Ethernet, and network security systems. This is a hybrid role based in Cleveland, OH, with three days in the office and two days at home.
