About the Position

Job Title: Surgical Technician Profession: Surgical Technician Specialty: Surgical Technician Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Rotating Shift Hours per Shift: 4 x 10s Experience: Minimum of six months of OR experience or completion of a Scrub Tech course License: Surgery Technician certification preferred Certifications: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Must-Have: Surgery Technician certification preferred Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Description: Assists the surgical team in the preparation of surgical procedures in the operating room. Prepares surgical cases by creating and maintaining a sterile field. Retracts and passes instruments, supplies, and medications to surgeons during procedures. Performs a variety of technical skills, including the maintenance of supplies. Checks required supplies and equipment before each surgical case. Assembles appropriate supplies and equipment prior to operative procedures. Sets up operative instrumentation and sterile fields for expedient retrieval and utilization. Cleans equipment and facilities as necessary. Transports patients according to unit schedules and priorities. Provides clerical duties as needed. Completes instrument, sponge, needle, and blade counts according to established standards. Maintains a neat and orderly sterile field while demonstrating careful attention to aseptic technique. Labels solutions according to established standards. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Committed to the safety and well-being of associates and patients.
