Rendering direct and indirect nursing care to assigned patient populations in a manner consistent with the scope of licensure, the California Nurse Practice Act, and Mercy Medical Center (MMC) policies and procedures Assessing patients for nursing needs, establishing and implementing a problem-oriented plan of care, and evaluating the effectiveness of the interventions provided Providing immediate direction to other members of the nursing care team to ensure the appropriate provision and coordination of nursing services Acknowledging that patient age populations served and specific job competencies may vary depending on the assigned nursing unit Utilizing the 'Department / Unit Orientation & Initial Assessment of Competency' checklists, which are incorporated by reference, to define the specific requirements of this job description 15K Sign On Bonus for Eligible/Qualified/Experienced External Candidates with minimum 2yrs ED RN Experience Job Requirements Required Registered Nurse: CA Basic Life Support (BLS) - CPR Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC), within eighteen (18) months Preferred Current MICN Previous acute or emergency experience a plus Certification for Emergency Nurse (CEN) Certificate Bilingual Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
