Registered Nurse CVOR

Job Summary:

The CVOR RN is responsible for providing specialized perioperative nursing care in cardiovascular operating rooms. This role involves circulating and scrub responsibilities, with the opportunity to work across various surgical specialties.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Coordinate and facilitate patient care before, during, and after cardiovascular surgeries.
  
  
• 
  Circulate and scrub for procedures including ortho, spine, and neuro surgeries, ensuring adherence to sterile techniques and safety protocols.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with surgical teams to prepare operating rooms and manage surgical instruments and supplies.
  
  
• 
  Maintain thorough documentation of surgical procedures and patient status.
  
  
• 
  Respond promptly to intraoperative needs, including managing equipment and assisting with sterility and safety standards.
  
  
• 
  Work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, with on-call duties averaging 3-4 weekends per month.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Possess 4-5 years of OR RN or combined OR experience, with circulating experience required.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency in ortho, spine, and neuro surgeries, performing independently.
  
  
• 
  Hold an active RN license in Connecticut and provide a current NURSYS verification.
  
  
• 
  Be experienced in scrub and circulate roles, versatile across multiple specialties.
  
  
• 
  Be able to obtain Connecticut RN licensure within 24 hours of employment start date.
  
  
• 
  Vaccinated for COVID-19 and flu, or authorized medical/religious exemptions.
