As SHM’s Manager, HR Services, you’ll be the primary HR voice for our organization setting the tone for compliance, guiding HRIS strategy, supporting employee engagement, and ensuring our people operations reflect the standards of a well-run financial services company. You’ll work closely with SHM’s leadership team and CCBank’s HR department.We need someone who has the expertise and know-how to review what we have, identify what we’re missing, and help us build it better.What You’ll LeadHR Compliance & Regulatory OversightEnsure SHM’s HR practices remain current and compliant with federal, multi-state, and industry-specific employment regulations.Conduct periodic HR compliance audits and proactively identify gaps or risk areasMaintain and update the employee handbook, HR policies, and acknowledgment workflowsOversee licensing, background check processes, and mandatory training documentationPartner with external legal counsel on sensitive employee matters and escalationsPayroll & BenefitsOversee payroll coordination in partnership with the Accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely processingServe as the internal liaison for benefits providers and the 401(k) plan administratorLead annual benefit renewals and open enrollment processLead annual 401(k) audit preparation, compliance testing, and open enrollmentManage employee eligibility tracking, enrollments, and contribution documentationHRIS Strategy & Management (Paycom)Serve as the strategic owner and system administrator for PaycomEnsure data integrity across employee records, compensation, PTO, and reporting structuresIdentify and implement system improvements to reduce manual workload and improve accuracyProduce meaningful workforce analytics—headcount, turnover, and PTO trends—for leadership decision-makingAlign HRIS configuration with evolving business needs and compliance requirementsEmployee Engagement & CultureServe as a trusted resource for employeesAdvise leadership on engagement strategies, recognition programs, and culture initiatives appropriate for a team of SHM’s sizeSupport manager effectiveness by providing guidance on team dynamics, feedback, and performance documentationHelp leadership navigate difficult employee conversations with the right balance of empathy and legal awarenessEmployee Lifecycle & HR OperationsOwn onboarding end-to-end: offer workflows, I-9 verification, system setup, and first-day experienceManage offboarding processes including documentation, system access removal, and final pay coordinationMaintain complete, confidential employee personnel filesCoordinate with IT on equipment provisioning and access managementWhat You Bring10+ years of broad HR experience, with meaningful time spent in financial services, mortgage lending, banking, or a similarly regulated industryDeep working knowledge of HR compliance: federal and state employment law, CFPB/mortgage industry regulations, I-9 requirements, ERISA, and FLSAHands-on experience with Paycom or a comparable enterprise HRIS—you know how to configure it, not just use itProven track record managing 401(k) administration, annual audits, and benefits programsExperience building or improving HR infrastructure in a growing or mid-size organizationPHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferredYou’re someone leadership can rely on, proactive, sound in judgment, and trustedEqually comfortable advising a VP and answering a new hire’s onboarding questionWhy This RoleGenuine flexibility—we care about outcomes, not office hoursA seat at the table: direct access to SHM leadership and meaningful influence over people strategyWork that matters at a company that’s growing and doing it thoughtfullyThe professional engagement of a substantive HR role without the grind of full-time corporate lifeHow to ApplyIf you’re an accomplished HR professional who’s ready to bring your expertise to a role built around flexibility and real impact, we’d love to connect.
