Travel RN – Operating Room / Surgery (Mid Shift)

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Days/Mid Shift (11:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Monday–Friday | On-Call Required | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide routine and complex perioperative nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients across a wide range of surgical specialties
• Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments
• Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identify issues and connect with appropriate resources
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed to manage clinical situations effectively

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of employment or a valid compact RN license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an Operating Room or surgical nursing specialty
• Ability to fulfill on-call requirements: 1–2 times per week and every 3rd weekend (Friday–Sunday)
• Ability to float between OR locations within the local area as needed

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Experience scrubbing or circulating in multiple surgical service lines including orthopedics (Mako robotic-assisted procedures), spine/cranial, general surgery (including robotic), urology, podiatry, hand surgery, and ENT
• Familiarity with pediatric surgical cases, particularly orthopedic and ENT procedures
