Description

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This role supports resident comfort, safety, and infection control standards within the senior living community.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize resident apartments, bathrooms, common areas, offices, and service areas according to established schedules
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect surfaces using approved cleaning products
• Properly handle and dispose of trash, biohazard waste, and soiled linens
• Launder, fold, and distribute linens as assigned
• Replenish supplies such as paper products, soap, and hand sanitizer
• Follow infection control, OSHA, and community safety guidelines
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and supply needs promptly
• Interact respectfully and professionally with residents, families, and team members
• Support special cleaning projects and community events as needed

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions in English
• Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping or environmental services experience (senior living, healthcare, hotel, or hospitality preferred)
• Knowledge of infection prevention or healthcare sanitation standards
• Experience working with elderly residents or in a service-oriented environment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 35–50 pounds
• Ability to push cleaning carts and operate housekeeping equipment
• Ability to perform repetitive motions throughout the shift
