Job Title: Sanitation Associate Job Description

This full-time, temp-to-hire Sanitation Associate role in a food manufacturing environment focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and food-safe production facility while supporting ongoing production operations. You help ensure compliance with sanitation, food safety, and quality standards by thoroughly cleaning equipment and work areas, accurately documenting sanitation activities, and preparing the production environment for efficient and safe operation.

• Relieve the processing team and complete any remaining production batches as needed.
• Verify that ingredients have been added correctly and confirm batch accuracy before and after processing.
• Record production waste accurately and coordinate pH verification with Quality Assurance staff.
• Clean and sanitize production equipment, machinery, and work areas according to established procedures and sanitation standards.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment to perform deep cleaning and thorough sanitation.
• Follow established sanitation schedules and adhere to all food safety requirements.
• Safely handle and use cleaning chemicals and sanitation products in accordance with company policies and safety guidelines.
• Complete sanitation logs and all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Inspect equipment and production areas to ensure they are clean, sanitized, and ready for operation.
• Dispose of waste and recyclable materials according to company procedures and environmental guidelines.
• Follow all GMP, HACCP, food safety, and workplace safety policies at all times.
• Report maintenance, sanitation, or safety concerns promptly to supervisors or designated personnel.
• Assist with general facility housekeeping and sanitation duties as assigned to support overall cleanliness and organization.
• Support inventory, warehouse, and production-related sanitation tasks as needed.

• Ability to follow detailed cleaning procedures and safety requirements consistently.
• Strong attention to detail with a clear commitment to quality and food safety.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and dependable transportation to and from the facility.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly during the shift.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical tasks throughout the entire shift.
• Comfort working in wet environments and around cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to work in cold production areas with temperatures ranging from 33&degree;F to 39&degree;F.
• Ability to perform repetitive cleaning and sanitation tasks for extended periods.

• Previous experience in manufacturing, food production, sanitation, janitorial work, housekeeping, or industrial cleaning is preferred.
• Familiarity with food manufacturing environments and production processes is an advantage.
• Experience working with inventory, warehouse, or production operations is beneficial.
• Understanding of GMP and HACCP principles in a food production setting is a plus.

You work in a food manufacturing facility with a fast-paced production environment that requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting. The role involves regular exposure to cleaning chemicals and sanitation products, as well as working in wet conditions and cold production and storage areas with temperatures between 33&degree;F and 39&degree;F. You follow established safety and food safety procedures while using appropriate equipment and protective gear to perform sanitation tasks throughout your assigned shift, which may be on 1st shift (6:00 AM to 2:30 PM) or 2nd shift (2:00 PM to 10:30 PM).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ephrata, PA.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
