Senior Financial Analyst

Los Angeles, CA 90007 | Full-Time, Mon-Fri 9AM-5PM | Temporary Assignment $35-$45/hour Do budgets, financial models, government funding, and finding ways to improve financial performance sound like your kind of challenge? We’re looking for a Sr. Financial Analyst to join a mission-driven team and play a key role in turning financial data into smarter decisions!You’ll work closely with leadership, program teams, and external funding partners to make sure budgets are on track, funding is maximized, and resources are being used effectively. What You’ll Be Doing Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, variance analyses, and reimbursement requests Manage contract and grant budgets, including direct and indirect expenses Track budget vs. actuals and identify opportunities to improve financial performance Partner with program managers to review revenue, expenditures, billing, and budget needs Support contract renewals, modifications, and financial proposals for new funding opportunities Monitor cash collections and ensure payments and expenditures are properly allocated Reconcile cash activity, A/P, A/R, general ledger, bank statements, and credit card accounts Support month-end close and accurately record financial transactions Assist with year-end audits, contract monitoring, and independent agency reviews Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting for the CFO and leadership team What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field 3–5 years of accounting/financial analysis experience Experience managing Department of Mental Health (DMH) government contracts and funding Nonprofit experience strongly preferred Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Knowledge of GAAP nonprofit/government accounting standards and CFR 200 requirements Experience working with city, county, and federal funding sources Strong analytical skills with the ability to spot trends, variances, and opportunities Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines Why This Role Matters This isn’t just a job where you crunch numbers all day.
