Pediatric Registered Dietitian- Inpatient Float

Position Summary
The Clinical Nutrition Team at Boston Children’s Hospital is dedicated to providing infants, children, adolescents, and young adults with comprehensive nutrition assessments—an essential component of individualized care plans for a wide range of conditions. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide inpatient nutrition care across a broad range of specialty services, supporting coverage needs throughout the hospital. The successful candidate will enjoy variety in their clinical practice while collaborating with experienced dietitians and multidisciplinary teams caring for medically complex pediatric patients. This Float Inpatient Dietitian position is available as either 24 or 32 hours per week, with a consistent schedule consisting of consecutive workdays. Candidates should be comfortable practicing across diverse inpatient populations and demonstrate strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills. Candidates will be evaluated and placed at Clinical Nutrition Specialist Level I or Level II based on experience, competencies, and alignment with career ladder criteria.

Level II – Pediatric Registered Dietitian II (Clinical Nutrition Specialist II)
Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition & Dietetics
• 3+ years of progressive experience in Dietetics with at least 2 years in pediatric nutrition
• Registration by Commission on Dietetic Registration, the Credentialing agency of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, as a Registered Dietitian
• Licensure by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a licensed Dietitian.
• Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) preferred.

• Providing nutritional care to patients on assigned inpatient units.
• Evaluating the medical, biochemical, and nutritional information and assessing patient needs in order to develop and implement the most appropriate nutrition care plans.
• Serving as a proficient resource, mentor and educator for health care providers, students, community dietitians and the general public.
• Supporting Clinical Nutrition initiatives to improve professional practice including community-based initiatives.

• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition & Dietetics
• Completion of an ACEND (Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics) accredited Internship Program.
• Registration by Commission on Dietetic Registration, the Credentialing agency of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, as a Registered Dietitian
• Licensure by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a licensed Dietitian.
• Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) preferred.

• Providing nutritional care to patients on assigned inpatient units.
• Evaluating the medical, biochemical, and nutritional information and assessing patient needs in order to develop and implement the most appropriate nutrition care plans.
• Serving as a competent resource, mentor and educator for health care providers, students, community dietitians and the general public.

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
