Shift: 7am-3:30pm

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Pay: $27/hr.

Job Description

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk supports warehouse and logistics operations by coordinating incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring materials are received, stored, and distributed efficiently. This role works closely with production, planning, purchasing, and transportation teams to keep materials moving on time while upholding safety, quality, and inventory control standards in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials, ingredients, and supplies against purchase orders and packing slips.

• Prepare and process outbound shipments, including accurate packaging, labeling, and completion of all required shipping documentation.

• Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

• Maintain accurate inventory transactions within the warehouse management system (WMS) or ERP system, such as SAP.

• Perform regular cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits to ensure inventory accuracy.

• Coordinate with production, planning, purchasing, and transportation teams to ensure timely movement and availability of materials.

• Store materials in designated warehouse locations following FIFO and established inventory control procedures.

• Monitor inventory levels and promptly report any discrepancies, shortages, or damaged materials.

• Use RF scanners and other warehouse technologies to pick, pack, and track materials and orders.

• Support kitting, picking, packing, and general material handling tasks as needed.

• Ensure compliance with food safety, GMP, quality, and safety standards at all times.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, including housekeeping of work areas.

• Assist with other warehouse and logistics duties as assigned to support overall operations.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 3 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics operations.

• Proven experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.

• Hands-on experience with inventory control, including cycle counts and physical inventory.

• Ability to accurately complete shipping and receiving documentation and maintain records.

• Basic computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office and inventory or warehouse management systems.

• Experience using RF scanners for picking, packing, and inventory transactions.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.

• High school diploma or GED.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

• Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems for inventory and shipping transactions.

• Experience in kitting, picking, packing, and logistics support activities.

• Knowledge of FIFO and standard inventory control procedures.

• Understanding of food safety, GMP, quality, and safety standards in a warehouse setting.

• Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Work Environment

This role is based in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment that can be dirty and loud at times. You will regularly work around active material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, and use tools like RF scanners and computers for data entry and inventory transactions. The position involves frequent standing, walking, lifting, and moving materials throughout the facility. Proper safety practices, personal protective equipment, and adherence to warehouse rules are essential to working comfortably and safely in this setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Charleston, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.06 - $27.06/hr.
