We are seeking an experienced and skilled Dietary Cook to join our team at Irving Park Living and Rehab, a community nursing facility that offers care, comfort, and the security of home in the heart of Chicago's Irving Park neighborhood. As a Dietary Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our residents receive high-quality, nutritious meals that cater to their individual needs. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and serve appetizing meals and snacks to our residents and staff, following established recipes and dietary guidelines. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment, adhering to all food safety and sanitation standards. Collaborate with the Food Service Supervisor and Administrator to plan menus, order supplies, and manage inventory. Develop and implement creative and appealing menu options that meet the dietary needs of our residents. Demonstrate knowledge of food preparation techniques, including cooking methods, food handling, and sanitation procedures. Lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods. Requirements: Must have at least 1 year of experience as a Cook in a healthcare setting or equivalent. Food service and sanitation license and/or certification required. Ability to follow written and oral instructions, as well as maintain a safe and healthy work environment. Familiarity with preparing a variety of cuisines, including meat, poultry, fish, grains, fruits, and vegetables.
