Classification Specialist

DePuy Synthes, a Johnson & Johnson subsidiary, is recruiting a Classification Specialist to support trade compliance and supply chain execution for products in the United States, with locations in Raritan, NJ; West Chester, PA; Raynham, MA; and Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Job Overview: The Classification Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring products, components, and materials are correctly classified to support customs, trade compliance, and efficient global distribution. This position directly supports on‑time delivery, cost control, and regulatory compliance across domestic and international markets. Key Responsibilities Classify products, components, and materials in accordance with tariff schedules and trade regulations. Maintain accurate classification records for audits, customs inquiries, and internal reviews. Partner with Supply Chain, Trade Compliance, Regulatory, and Logistics teams to resolve classification questions or discrepancies. Provide timely classification data for import/export shipping documentation. Monitor changes in trade regulations and assess impact to the business. Support internal controls, compliance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives related to classification processes. Contribute to the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures and work instructions. Respond to internal and external requests regarding product classification and trade compliance. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, International Trade, or related field. Advanced coursework or certification in trade compliance or global logistics is preferred. Experience: 3‑5 years in supply chain, logistics, trade compliance, or a related operational role. Prior experience supporting import/export operations or customs activities is preferred. Knowledge: Product classification principles and global trade concepts; ERP or trade compliance systems; regulated industry standards (medical devices, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing). Skills: Detail‑oriented data management; interpretation of regulations and guidance documents; Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); strong written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate across cross‑functional, global teams; continuous improvement or process documentation experience. Language: English proficiency required; additional languages are a plus. Travel: Limited travel may be required (up to ~10%). Certifications: Trade compliance or customs‑related certifications are preferred. Pay & Benefits Pay Range: $79,000.00 – $127,650.00.
