Job Summary

We are seeking a Principal Embedded Platform Architect to serve as a senior technical lead for embedded platform development and system architecture. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in QNX, Embedded Linux, Android/Android Automotive, C/C++, Qualcomm platforms, system integration, and embedded architecture.

Location: Hillsboro, OR

Key Responsibilities

• Define embedded platform architecture and technical solutions for complex systems.
• Lead architecture discussions, design reviews, and technical decision-making.
• Coordinate with distributed engineering teams and manage technical dependencies.
• Review technical designs, implementation, and engineering deliverables.
• Drive system integration, platform modernization, and performance optimization.
• Troubleshoot issues across application, middleware, OS, driver, hardware, and network layers.
• Support customer-facing technical discussions and presentations.
• Ensure quality, technical standards, and project commitments are met.
• Develop technical PoCs and transition validated solutions into production.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of embedded software development and platform architecture experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with C and C++.
• Expertise in QNX, Embedded Linux, and Android.
• Strong knowledge of Android middleware, framework, native services, HAL, NDK, JNI, AIDL, APEX, and Project Treble.
• Strong understanding of Linux and QNX internals, including processes, threads, IPC, scheduling, memory, storage, networking, and system services.
• Experience with embedded middleware, platform services, device interfaces, and hardware abstraction.
• Experience with Qualcomm Snapdragon platforms.
• Knowledge of QNX Hypervisor, virtualization, and multi-OS architectures.
• Experience with system performance analysis, profiling, benchmarking, and optimization.
• Knowledge of embedded security, secure boot, signing, certificates, TPM/TEE, and secure updates.
• Understanding of on-device AI, edge-AI architectures, and Qualcomm AI capabilities.
• Experience with Linux-to-Android service migration and platform modernization.
• Strong troubleshooting and system-level debugging skills.
• Excellent technical communication, documentation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
