Job Opportunity

An opportunity is available for a skilled clinician with experience in managing ventilated patients and tracheostomy care. The ideal candidate will work nights, following a 3x12-hour shift schedule from 19:00 to 07:30.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to patients with tracheostomies and those requiring ventilatory support.
• Monitor and manage patient health status, ensuring appropriate interventions are taken.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
• Float to similar units as needed to meet the needs of the hospital.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an acute care setting.
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, and NIHSS.
• Proficient in charting systems, specifically Meditech and Epic.
• Demonstrated experience in managing ventilated patients and performing tracheostomy care.

Unit Details

This role is based in an acute care hospital with a total of 189 staffed beds. The daily census is approximately 29 patients, primarily comprising adults and geriatrics.

Patient Care Information

• Diagnosis categories include:
• Neurological (CVA, TIA, seizures)
• Cardiac (chest pain, non-STEMI, Afib uncontrolled, CHF)
• Respiratory (PNA, COVID, COPD, TB)
• Gastrointestinal, Genitourinary, and Endocrine disorders
• Surgical interventions.

Work Environment

Free parking is available for all staff. The hospital encourages the use of safe patient handling equipment and other necessary tools to ensure high standards of care.

Additional Information

All candidates should be prepared to work every other weekend as part of their schedule. This role is open to first-time travelers looking to gain experience in a supportive environment.
