Candidates must be able to commit to one of the available shifts.This position combines hands-on caregiving with additional responsibility in the home. You'll:Provide individualized care and support to residentsAssist with grooming, bathing, feeding, toileting, mobility, and other personal care needsSupport individualized service plans and goalsAdminister medications according to agency proceduresComplete documentation and ISP dataEncourage community activities and independenceTransport residents to appointments and activitiesHelp with household responsibilities, including meal preparation, laundry, and housekeepingCommunicate important information to the residential teamCandidates must have a high school diploma or GED and meet the experience or education requirements for the position.The role requires a minimum of 12 months of experience working with the IDD population served as outlined in the job requirements.You must also:Be at least 18 years oldHave a valid driver's licensePass required health screening/TB testing and Live ScanBe able to provide hands-on care and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.Complete required CPR/First Aid, Medication Administration, Pro-Act, and DSP trainingThis role may include supporting individuals who display aggressive behaviors, and trained hands-on behavioral management strategies may be needed.Home of Guiding Hands has been serving children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities since 1967.
