Job Description Summary The Rehabilitation Technician assists patients and the care team in preparing for and performing treatment programs and provides basic day‑care support. The technician maintains department facilities, patient care areas and equipment, including patient wheelchairs and positioning devices, ensuring a clean and orderly environment. Responsibilities Prepare patients for treatments or evaluations, helping them with undressing and dressing as needed. Transfer, move, and ambulate patients to and from the department using wheelchairs or stretchers. Assist the therapist with direct patient care activities such as sensory stimulation, training programs, gait training, hydrotherapy, and exercise or weight‑training sessions. Conduct therapeutic routines for patients, reinforcing self‑care skills in feeding, dressing, bathing, and memory training. Observe patients and report reactions or changes in condition promptly to the supervising nurse or therapist. Fabricate equipment adaptations for patients and manage the adaptive equipment inventory. Maintain the clinic area, perform infection‑control procedures, and disinfect equipment. Manage food inventory for patient use, including purchasing, dating, and rotating supplies. Perform clerical support, including reception duties, file maintenance, document distribution, and retrieval of medical records. Clean and maintain rented wheelchairs and deliver or store supplies received from Central Supply. Perform any other duties assigned in the best interest of the institute. Qualifications High‑school diploma or equivalent. Minimum one year of experience as a physical therapy aide, occupational therapy aide, or related health‑care role with knowledge of patient‑care methods and techniques. Understanding of growth and development across adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Strong verbal, non‑verbal, and written communication skills. Ownership orientation toward serving customers, teammates, and the organization. Adaptability to changing work demands and environments. Critical thinking, sound judgment, and patient‑needs monitoring. Capacity to transfer and position patients safely, lifting up to 35lbs. Working Conditions Normal office environment with occasional exposure to infectious diseases when working with patients. Exposure to moderately adverse conditions during certain patient‑care activities. Pay and Benefits Hourly wage: $16.60 – $23.32. Benefits include a comprehensive program competitive with industry peers; eligibility may vary by position. Compensation is determined by experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
