Clinical Manager

Position Overview The Clinical Manager is responsible for overseeing the clinical nursing operations of the agency, ensuring adherence to nursing standards, and promoting excellence in patient care under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services. This position provides leadership, supervision, and support to nursing staff members, collaborating with the Executive Director, Director of Clinical Services, and other leadership personnel to achieve organizational objectives. The Clinical Manager serves as the clinical liaison between the organization and external partners, ensuring consistent communication and coordination with healthcare providers, case managers, support coordinators, and regulatory entities. Key Responsibilities Clinical Nursing Supervision Provide clinical supervision, guidance, and oversight to nursing staff, including RNs and LPNs under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services. Conduct supervision sessions, performance evaluations, and competency assessments as needed under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services. Perform house visits to monitor care delivery, ensure compliance with nursing standards, and complete visit records. Participate in all care plan, ISP, and annual meetings for individuals with nursing or skilled needs under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services. Support staff in implementing interventions, addressing individual needs, and maintaining high-quality standards of care. Ensure completion and approval of nursing documentation, including assessments, progress notes, and visit reports under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services. Medication Management Teach and facilitate Medication Administration classes for staff, ensuring compliance with DBHDS and DMAS training requirements under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services. Oversee medication reconciliation and ensure documentation accuracy following discharges, medication changes, or transitions under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services. Review and approve all medication‑related documentation for compliance and accuracy under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services. Provide supervision and training for medical‑related tasks, including tube feeding, wound care, and vital sign monitoring under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services. Support and monitor medication error reviews and corrective action plans under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services. Clinical and Program Coordination Participate in shared responsibilities with other members of the leadership team to coordinate nursing, medical, and programmatic functions under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services. Collaborate with Program Managers to conduct site visits and ensure medical standards are being upheld within all homes and programs under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services. Provide training, supervision, and ongoing guidance to staff regarding medical procedures, health protocols, and clinical documentation under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services. Support and oversee completion of ISP sections, Part V documentation, and nursing justifications for Customized Rate submissions under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services. Complete and review encounters and ensure timely submission of all billable documentation under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services. Contribute to program improvement efforts and ensure consistency between clinical and operational departments under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services. Human Resources and Scheduling Recruit, interview, and hire LPNs and nursing support staff as needed. Coordinate scheduling and coverage for all nursing shifts, including stepping in to fill shifts not covered when necessary to ensure continuity of care. Oversee nursing orientation, competency validation, and training of new staff under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services. Promote team accountability and model professional nursing practice. Quality Assurance and Compliance Conduct audits, reviews, and performance monitoring to ensure compliance with DBHDS, DMAS, and internal quality standards. Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance individual outcomes and satisfaction. Review and approve clinical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services. Ensure adherence to safety, infection control, and medication protocols. Interdisciplinary and External Collaboration Serve as the clinical liaison between ACLS and all external healthcare providers, hospitals, pharmacies, and coordinating agencies. Participate in marketing efforts related to nursing services, representing the organization at meetings, events, and partnership opportunities. Facilitate effective communication among interdisciplinary teams to ensure person‑centered and coordinated care. Collaborate with external providers to obtain and update care plans, discharge summaries, and orders as needed. Documentation and Reporting Maintain complete and compliant documentation of all clinical activities, including assessments, encounters, visits, and supervisory notes under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services. Prepare reports, audits, and summaries for internal review and external reporting. Review and sign off on all documentation requiring nursing oversight prior to submission or billing. Additional Responsibilities Participate in program and agency meetings, including interdisciplinary, clinical, and administrative reviews. Engage in ongoing professional development and ensure the clinical team remains compliant with credentialing and licensure requirements. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Clinical Services, Executive Director, or designee. Support agency initiatives, compliance projects, and cross‑departmental collaboration to ensure continuity and excellence in care delivery. Qualifications Graduation from a licensed practical nurse program or Registered Nurse program. Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure with the Virginia Board of Nursing. Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, including supervisory or administrative leadership. Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and organizational skills. Proven ability to lead teams, train staff, and manage multiple priorities. In-depth understanding of DBHDS, DMAS, HCBS, and Medicaid Waiver regulations. #J-18808-Ljbffr
