PRIMARY SUMMARY: The Maintenance Helper performs a variety of maintenance and repair activities, including assisting Maintenance Mechanics with various assignments.

The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. ,The responsibilities of the position include compliance with company and governmental safety, environmental and hazardous materials regulations and procedures. Must use all Personal Protective Equipment provided by the company for the position and the environment. Participate in the development and promotion of the HSE culture, be exemplary in terms of health, safety and the environment, in particular by:
- Respecting and ensuring respect for the instructions and rules established in the field of health, safety and the environment (in particular the LISI golden rules)
- Immediately correcting, whenever possible, or reporting to his or her superiors and/or the HSE department, any malfunction or risky situation in the fields of health, safety and environmental protection
- Implementing preventive actions to reduce the environmental footprint and control health and safety risks
- Participate, upon request, in analyses (of risks, incidents) and HSE working groups related to his/her professional scope
- Be familiar with the main health and safety risks and the main environmental impacts relating to the scope of his/her work
- Be familiar with the site's HSE policy and objectives
- To be able to make proposals for improving working conditions and limiting environmental impact Compensation: $20/Hr.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs minor repairs, changes light fixtures, paints, and assists with plumbing. Seeks Supervisor or Lead guidance as necessary to ensure safety at all times.
- Operates sweeper in production area daily.
- Always performs work with the utmost safety in mind; wears appropriate PPE for the job and follows all safety rules, especially those involving lock out/tag out, powered industrial vehicles, confined spaces, and electrical equipment.
- Uses a variety of tools to perform duties including but not limited to; hand tools, and power tools in a safe and proficient manner.
- Assists in all areas of new construction and remodeling of the facility.
- Reports any safety violation, machining equipment misusage and/or improperly performed work to supervisor or lead.
- Follow all 5S department procedures which include but are not limited to; keeping floors clean of oil and debris, returning tools to proper locations, organize part pans, and performs other housekeeping duties.
- All employees are responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures.
- All employees are responsible for attending all training provided and for adhering to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements, and safe operating procedures at all times.
- Continually seek opportunities to improve our HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting our results.
- May assist and/or suggests waste elimination initiatives specifically related to the function and department such as opportunities to elimination of production material recycle and waste opportunities.
- Supports other general maintenance activities as assigned.
- Analytical - Collects and researches data; uses intuition and experience to complement data; understands work flows and procedures.
- Technical Skills - Utilize all training provided and refer to manuals when necessary. Working knowledge of manufacturing procedures and functions. Must pay special attention to details and be capable of working under limited supervision. Knowledge of forklift operation and rig heavy equipment. Familiar with Lock-out/Tag-out procedures.
- Oral Communication - Responsible to communicate to maintenance team members, manufacturing team members, department supervisor/manager(s), contractors, vendors, customers, suppliers, etc. on issues in the areas of safety, quality, production, equipment, process methods, housekeeping, etc. Listens intently to others and seeks clarification.

- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or;
- 6 months - 1 year of related experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Certification and or formal training in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is a plus.
- Experience and previous training in Lock-out/Tag-out procedures.
- Forklift License preferred
