Behavioral Health Registered Nurse

This is a 13-week contract position.

Position includes 8 and 12-hour rotating shifts, with availability required for nights, weekends, and holidays.

The Registered Nurse coordinates nursing care for patients with behavioral health issues. In this role, the nurse participates in patient and family education, administers medications and treatments, and utilizes electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Meditech.

Provide direct nursing care to patients with behavioral health conditions.

Engage in patient and family teaching to improve understanding and coping strategies.

Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with clinical guidelines.

Utilize EMR systems for documentation and care coordination.

Adhere to a team model maintaining a nurse to patient ratio on the unit.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in behavioral health nursing.

Current and active State of Hawaii RN license must be obtained by start of assignment.

BLS certification is required, along with NCI or other crisis prevention training.

Charge Nurse experience is preferred, as this position may include charge responsibilities.
