Job Title Mechanical Engineer Job Location 1779 Chessie Lane, Ottawa, IL, 61350 Job Duties Engage with employees, supervisors, and management to create and promote a safe work environment; Prioritize engineering safety into our work processes; Create CAD models, assembly and manufacturing instructions, test plans, and inspection protocols that deliver quality products cost‑effectively; Actively engage with all WRT stakeholders to achieve product cost efficiency; Solve problems, identify gaps, and redesign as required; Implement mistake‑proofing concepts to prevent product defects; Analyze and design fixtures and processes, and recommend automation, including new equipment; Ensure vendors and subcontractors manufacture products according to specifications; Develop product specifications and establish testing procedures before utilizing vendors or subcontractors; and Provide input and support during the selection process of new vendors. Complete other tasks as assigned or required. Approximately 10% domestic travel to various unanticipated sites throughout the U.S. is required. Requirements The position of Mechanical Engineer requires a Bachelor’s degree or its foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field and 2 years of progressively responsible, post‑baccalaureate experience in a related occupation. Additional Requirements Experience with system design and layout. Experience with tolerance control and tolerance stack‑up analysis. Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T). Experience with 3D CAD modeling. Experience with ERP, PowerPoint and Excel. Rate of Pay $90,000 to $115,000 per year Benefits Competitive salary within the stated range.
