Production Operator I – Cable Assembly

1st Shift: 6 AM-3:30 PM (M-F)

2nd Shift: 3:30 PM – 1:AM (M-F)

$17-$18hr

Overview

The Production Operator I supports manufacturing operations by assembling, inspecting, and testing coaxial cable assemblies and connectors. This role focuses on precision, quality, and adherence to established procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow assembly instructions, drawings, and work orders
• Assemble small components to MIL-spec and industry standards
• Operate equipment such as crimping, stripping, coiling, and testing machines
• Perform hand assembly using tools including presses and heat guns
• Use measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify specifications
• Conduct basic testing (continuity testers, network analyzers, etc.)
• Record production data, measurements, and quality results accurately
• Track labor using internal systems
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and report equipment issues
• Work collaboratively in a team environment

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 3+ years of cable assembly and/or soldering experience
• Ability to read prints and follow technical instructions
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks with high accuracy
• Basic computer skills for data entry and time tracking
• Ability to distinguish colors (quality requirements)

Skills & Abilities

• Excellent hand dexterity for small component assembly
• Understanding of measurements, tolerances, and quality standards
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work with engineering teams on new products/processes

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment
• Frequent standing, sitting, and repetitive hand movements
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and move materials as needed
• Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE)
