Design land development projects in Prince George's, Montgomery, and Howard Counties of Maryland. Utilize AutoCAD and Civil 3D to develop design concepts and plans in areas such as site layout, water, sewer mains, roads, soil erosion and sedimentation control plans, floodplain studies, and grading plans. Provide assistance to team members and management to achieve department goals.

Responsibilities

• Design land development projects using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

• Develop plans for site layout, water and sewer mains, and roads.

• Create soil erosion and sedimentation control plans.

• Conduct floodplain studies and develop grading plans.

• Assist team members and management in meeting department objectives.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD & Civil 3D.

• 2-5 years of experience in designing with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.

• Knowledge of Montgomery County permits.

• Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred.

• Experience in drainage and floodplain studies, site grading, stormwater management, and water/sewer plans.

• Ability to work independently and in a team.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• E.I.T. certification preferred.

• Experience in private land development preferred.

• Willingness to visit client sites and engage in project management.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Local candidates preferred.

Work Environment

Located in Montgomery Village, Maryland, providing civil engineering, surveying, landscape architecture, and land planning services throughout Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Northern Virginia. The company is on the verge of celebrating a 45-year history of successful projects in both private and public sectors, including urban designs, streetscapes, commercial, multi-use, institutional, parks and recreation, and high-end residential homes. Offers a company truck for field crew and promotes from within, providing financial support for obtaining PE certification.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Montgomery Village, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
