Junior Maintenance Technician

The Tank Maintenance Technician role is to ensure proper safety, maintenance, testing, and inspection of the portable pressurized tank fleet in Marietta. This role uses approved procedures and practices to complete tasks and supports a positive team environment while building technical skills on the job. Responsibilities Follow established operating procedures and safety standards to ensure safe and efficient refurbishment of portable pressurized tanks. Follow all critical, non-routine, and routine work procedures and policies related to area responsibilities. Complete required training and meet daily demand for tanks to be refurbished. Operate hand tools to refurbish tanks and replace tank fittings. Transfer product heels from tanks to storage vessels using approved procedures. Perform painting of tanks and stage empty refurbished tanks for production needs. Assure accuracy of tank tracking data and notify supervision of any anomalies per procedure. Perform OSHA-required equipment inspections prior to use and hydrotesting of portable pressurized tanks via approved procedures. Safely operate forklift equipment to move drums, totes, tanks, and pallets, and operate turret lift equipment for staging and pulling materials at heights. Participate in root cause investigations if unplanned events or failures occur. Perform daily housekeeping activities as required by Dow policy. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; able to interface with a computer to input data. Attention to detail and data accuracy; knowledge/experience in hands-on maintenance preferred. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Driver’s license with ability to operate a forklift; experience operating forklift and turret lift at heights of 20 feet preferred. 1 year of forklift and turret lift experience preferred; no visa sponsorship available for this U.S. position. Must be legally eligible to work in the United States. Physical Requirements Lift up to 50 lbs; frequent bending, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders; work at heights ≥4 feet. Wear PPE such as respirators, protective clothing, goggles and boots; respirator use requires a clean-shaven face. Work in tight and enclosed spaces; no known chemical sensitivities; ability to work with PPE with a combined weight up to 300 lbs. Additional Skills and Information Technical and mechanical aptitude; ability to operate hand tools, perform hydrotesting, paint tanks, and safely use forklifts and turret lifts at heights over 20 feet. Procedure and safety compliance: follows SOPs and safety protocols including OSHA inspections and root cause investigations. Basic computer and data accuracy skills for tracking systems and reporting anomalies. Teamwork, communication, self-management and accountability within the workgroup.
