Title: Cross-Categorical Special Education Teacher (1.0 FTE) - Northside Intermediate

Job Description:
The School District of Milton is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) Cross Categorical Teacher at Northside Intermediate. In this role, you will provide individualized instruction and support to students with a wide range of disabilities. Working collaboratively with families, educators, and support staff, you will develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that promote students' academic, behavioral, and social success.

This position begins August 19, 2026, and offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students. The starting salary is $52,400 for a 190-day contract for candidates holding a bachelor's degree. Additional compensation is available based on prior public school teaching experience and graduate-level education beyond a bachelor's degree.
To support recruitment and retention of exceptional educators, the School District of Milton provides a $1,500 annual hard-to-fill stipend for Special Education Teachers, which is added to the teacher's contract. In addition, employees enjoy a comprehensive and competitive benefits package.

Qualifications:
The School District of Milton is seeking dedicated and collaborative educators who are passionate about engaging students in the learning process. The ideal candidate will be organized, flexible, and an effective communicator, with the ability to coordinate services for students with disabilities across a continuum of service models.

Successful candidates will demonstrate knowledge and skills in assessing emotional, behavioral, and learning disabilities; applying effective instructional techniques and positive behavioral interventions; and implementing best practices to support students with a wide range of abilities and needs. They will also work collaboratively with colleagues, contribute positively to the school and district community, and assume a leadership role in the implementation of district initiatives and special education service delivery. Proficiency in co-planning with general education teachers is essential.

Applicants must hold or be eligible for WI DPI Certification in special education.

Applicants with a WI DPI Certification in Cross-Categorical Special Education – 1801 and/or Intellectual Disabilities – 1810 and have the appropriate position code for 4K through third grade students are preferred.
